Amalfi Coast Lemons And Limoncello

The Amalfi Coast is the most beautiful place in the world and known for many things, especially its famous #lemons, which have almost twice as many aromatic compounds (like terpenes) and essential oils than any other lemon. They are sweet and are eaten out of hand. In this video, I received them fresh from #italy via my cousin @chefgiuseppebruno from @sistinarestaurant and also @caravaggioristorante in NYC. I explain the variety, Femminello, and it’s subvarities, most importantly, the Sfusato Amalfitano and the Ovale and it’s own sub-variety, the disease-resistant Santa Teresa. I also talk about the land and the famous “flying farmers”. That famous Delizia al Limone cake from the @stanleytucci show Searching for Italy? That was my wedding cake when I got married there at the world famous @lloydsbaiahotel years ago. I plan on making Limoncello with them and cooking also. I also discuss Badia Limoncello, which we proudly sell at our store, In Vino Veritas in Manhattan, NYC @invinoveritaswinesnyc We also sell a cream version. Stop by and pick up a bottle, then head to Sistina and also Caravaggio restaurants, then book a trip to the Amalfi coast. You can thank us later. N.B. Cracking the Chicken Parm Code…and Pizza, too !

Cracking the CHICKEN PARM Code! And, while I’m at it, pizza, too. I’m prepared to be called “crazy”, only to have my words repeated years down the road. It happens all the time to me. The History may not be correct !!!! The key difference is a term I came up with called “Thoughtful Refinement”. Watch the whole thing before possibly losing your mind lol #chickenparm #chickenparmesan #chickenparmigiana #eggplantparm #vealparm #parmigiana #parmigianadimelanzane #pizza #neapolitan #neapolitanpizza #invinoveritas #invinoveritaswinesnyc #italian #italianamerican

Interview Of The Week : Gerardo Bruno

Fried eggs and books. It sounds weird but when I think of my cousin (full disclosure), Gerardo Bruno, those two things come to mind. Before Life got too busy, my family was always all together. Imagine, what felt like, 50 people going in and out of a house filled with food and laughter. And some very loud talking; but we are Italian, forgive us. Gerardo and his Continue reading

Le Zeppole Di San Giuseppe, Happy Father’s Day

RE-POST : After a year and a half away from this blog, I posted two articles. I took another break but then my site went down and, when it was brought back, the last two articles were missing. This article I am re-posting was one of the most well received and most read. I had to re-post. Here it is AGAIN !

This Article on Le Zeppole di San Giuseppe is broken down into two parts, the first detailing the Pastry and the second detailing the actual Meaning of the Day.

During the Middle Ages, there was drought and famine in Sicily. Praying to their Patron Saint Joseph, Sicilians begged for rain and promised a bountiful feast if Continue reading

Custom Made Suit by Atelier Di Martino, Marinella Tie, And Custom Shirt by Camiceria TMC

PLEASE NOTE : I rarely dress this conservatively.
14 Pictures are at the end of the Article.

My uncle, Zio Peppino, is a retired Master Tailor. Born in Italy, he started working at the “Sartoria” across the tiny street from his house at age 9 !!! At 15, he came to the United States and quickly promoted his talents. Besides owning his own, successful Tailor shop in Midtown Manhattan, he was proud to have done work for Oleg Cassini and boast a list of his own, personal clients, with big names like Anthony Quinn, John Travolta, Yoko Ono, Jake La Motta, and many more. He even was Continue reading

Interview Of The Week : Ivan Crivellaro

My father always says he likes “wines that are sincere”. Sincerity is honesty, humility, and intimacy. When I first met Ivan Crivellaro, I wondered about his personality, though I had a feeling he would be sincere. I had sent meesages back and forth with him for a Continue reading

Capitalism Is The Great Equalizer

There will be a series of articles I will write about Capitalism that right the wrong ideas of it. True Capitalism is Free Markets. But that’s for another discussion/article. In Italy, the 20 regions never got along too well. Some do; most don’t. Most of the South and Continue reading
